A message from Rikki:
Before we start the lesson today, I want to let you know about a new fun adventure I’m starting within the children’s ministries at Bethel. I plan to make some special deliveries (not through the mail, locally) to any families who wish to sign up with Christian activities, treats, or tokens for the special seasons we are in, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. If you are interested in participating in this, reply to the email sent out stating that you want to be a part of the program including your address and how many children are participating. I would love to have all of the replies by Wednesday, September 30th.
Sunday School Lesson:
This week I want you guys to get your Bibles out as a family, and read together Exodus 17:1-17.
Listed below are some questions you can discuss with your children while you read the scripture passage. I have also attached some activity sheets that go with the scripture.
Have a great week and I hope to hear from you all soon!
Questions to discuss:
- How might you respond if you had no water? How should they have responded to this need? Was it reasonable to blame Moses for this? Why or why not?
- What was Moses’ reaction?
- How did he describe their behavior?
- When the going gets tough, what do you do? Who do you turn to?
- Do you tend to complain or do you take it to God in prayer?
- Is your faith shaken or is it reinforced?
- How did the people test God?
- Is testing God a good way to find out evidence He is true and build your faith?
- What are some ways Christians might test God these days?
