About BUMY:

BUMY (Bethel United Methodist Youth) is open to all youth in grades 6-12…you do not have to be a member of the church to participate in our activities. Typically, we follow the below schedule. But keep an eye on our calendar and our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, for information on special events and outings that vary from month to month.

Currently, our Youth Group is led by a group of volunteers from the church who enjoy working with the youth.

We meet every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  This time is spent doing a devotion, having fellowship time together, playing games, and doing typical youth activities, like Destination Unknown.

On the first Sunday of the month, we meet with the Missions committee for motel outreach. We meet at the Jefferson Hotel and end our time with dinner together.

Volunteers make BUMY possible. We rely on parents and other adults from the church to support our events and meetings. If you are interested in helping out or are looking for a way to get involved with the youth, contact the church office.

Missions

Reaching Out:  Our youth are focused on making a positive impact on the community and the world. We serve throughout the year, both locally and nationally. Recently, we have been spending our time…

-gleaning and harvesting potatoes with Harvest of Hope/Society of Saint Andrew

-acting as a local branch of Teens Opposing Poverty (TOP) by providing toiletries and food to the residents staying at the Jefferson Hotel and the Rip Van Winkle Hotel

-raising funds and organizing the purchase of Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gifts for local families

-raising awareness of world-wide concerns, such as hunger

Activities

Is that it?  Nope!

We do more than bible study and mission work! We are always looking for new activities to try out in the community. We have lake days, trips to D.C., and weekend retreats! We are also connected to other churches within the Warrenton area and churches in our district to participate in activities with! If there is something you want to do, suggest it to the Youth Leaders, and we will see what we can do!

Fundraising

Together, as a group, we raise money to fund our missions and activities.
