“Living our faith, sharing God’s Love” is our mission statement. We believe that Jesus’ commandments are embodied in our mission. Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all your heart, mind, and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself; so we are to share God’s love. Jesus also said go into the world proclaiming the good news and baptizing to make disciples in all nations; and that is the essence of living our faith.

All are Welcome

All persons are welcome and are warmly welcomed at Bethel Church: you will experience our hospitality during your first visit. Most newcomers return because of the welcome they receive. You do not have to be a member to attend or engage in our ministry activities.

Faith

Having faith in God and developing faith is a journey and we are all at different places in our faith journey. We believe it is important to move ahead in our faith journey and to move to a closer relationship with God. Thus, we encourage one another and hold one another accountable. The two primary vehicles we use to move ahead are Bible study and ministry activities.

Bible Study

Bible study is the place that we learn about God, about ourselves, and about the life and relationship that God intends for us. Bible study and prayer are the vehicles for developing our faith and a closer relationship with God. Bible study and prayer provide us a way to hang out with God and develop our relationship. It is not unlike how we develop our earthly friendships – hanging out, getting to know one another, and building trust as we get to know one another better.

Ministry

Ministry is the responsibility of every Christian, not just the pastor. Being in ministry is how we live our faith. To this end, we have opportunities to worship together, to nurture one another, to reach out to meet the needs of the less fortunate persons in our community, and to help others beyond our own community. While we do not require everyone to join in one of our ministries, we encourage everyone to understand their gifts and talents and share them by engaging in one or more of our ministry opportunities.

Intent

Our intent is to build faith within each person who comes to Bethel. We hope all who come will begin to experience the joy of new life in Christ, to feel the peace that passes all understanding, and to move ahead in their faith journey to the end that they become disciples and lead others to discipleship.
